It's been tested but it still might have a small error or 2 (I don't think it does though).

Diamonds And Crosses 12 inch Square Pattern
By Julee A. Reeves
Finished size: 12" X 12"
Gauge: First 2 Rnds of pattern= 2 Inches 4 ½ Dc= 1 inch
Materials:
Main Color (MC): Approx. 2-2.5 ounces of worsted weight Acrylic yarn
Contrasting Color (CC): Small amount of worsted weight Acrylic yarn to use in rnd 13.
“G” crochet hook or size hook to match gauge (most people say using an "F" crochet hook worked best for them. I crochet REALLY tight so this makes sense).
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends
Stitches Used: Sl St, Ch, Sc, Hdc, Dc, Sc and Hdc in BL’s.
Pattern Notes:
Ch3 counts as beg Dc and Ch4 counts as beg Dc and Ch1. Ch5 in first rnd counts as first Dc and ch2 for corner. In all rnds except for rnd 12 you will be Dc’ing in the chain as if you would be Dc’ing into any other stitch (with top of chain at the top of the hook and with the single little bump on the bottom side of the hook.). In rnd 12 you will be Hdc’ing in the BL of the ch (through the top of the chain leaving one loop empty on the bottom). Doing it that way makes an even line of Front Loops and I think kinda makes the square.

I so love this pattern and I find it works best with Caron simply soft and a F hook makes a prefect 12" square for me:)
hugs,
sissie

Wow, I really like this, it always seems to come out clean-looking for me, never sloppy, even when I'm only half crocheting because I'm watching CSI at the same time! Thank you so much, I'm using this pattern all the time it seems!
I'm really glad you like the pattern.
